Katsushika Hokusai

Katsushika Hokusai (1760–1849) was a master of Japanese ukiyo-e painting and printmaking, best known for The Great Wave off Kanagawa. His innovative compositions, dynamic use of color, and exploration of nature and spirituality profoundly influenced both Japanese art and Western Impressionism.
