About this print

The plate appeared in the “Dictionnaire universel d'histoire naturelle”, a French encyclopaedia published in Paris between 1841 and 1849. Each specimen displays distinct markings, shell textures and iridescence, accompanied by line diagrams. The scientific illustration records the anatomical features of the insects.
