About this print

Metallic tones and distinct patterning define the plumage of the ring-necked bird. The background incorporates field flora and a distant estate. The plate originally appeared in the French natural-history encyclopaedia “Dictionnaire universel d'histoire naturelle”, published in Paris between 1841 and 1849.
