About this print
Various specimens of East Indies marine life fill the plate from the 1719 Amsterdam publication “Poissons, écrevisses et crabes”. Renard incorporates partly fantastical elements and fine patterning into the anatomy of the sea creatures. Clean lines and bright washes define the individual shapes across the page.
