About this print
Samuel Jessurun de Mesquita shapes the stylised bird through precise white cuts and geometric shading. The Dutch graphic artist, known as the teacher of M. C. Escher, positions the animal diagonally on a textured branch to contrast with the solid black areas of the linocut.
