About this print

Pierre-Joseph Redouté prepared the plate for “Les Liliacées”, a botanical volume published between 1802 and 1816. Fine floral dissections accompany the broad leaf, reflecting his role as botanical painter to Marie-Antoinette and Empress Joséphine. Subtle watercolour tints complete the composition.
